About Us

I came up through the Trades as a Carpenter.  As a Superintendent back in 2016 on a Historic Renovation Project, I was watching a pipefitter struggling as he attempted to thread a pipe into a weldolet that continued on through a hole in the wall he drilled for the pipe to travel into the next room. The issue he ran into, the hole he drilled was measured from a ceiling that was not level and neither was the weldolet he was attempting to thread the pipe into.  This made it impossible for him to thread the pipe into the weldolet with widening the hole or drilling another hole in the correct location for the pipe to continue on it's path. I asked him if there was a tool that gave the exact direction of the pipe's direction for drilling holes and setting hangers, he said, not that I am aware of, at that moment that the idea for the LASERGIZMO was born.

I started prototyping tools (first prototype pictured above) and for a little over a year and and then finally attempting to file for a patent. Through multiple moves across the country for work, the correspondence with the USTPO office was not forwarded timely and the patent application was abandoned for lack of correspondence. The filing process was daunting back then and took several months of hard work on my part, and the thought of re-filing was overwhelming. After many years of fighting demons and trying to find the time and effort needed to re-file and push the tool to market, I finally buried myself into it and got it done. I wanted to set an example for my kids and grandkids, that you should never give up on a dream or an idea and to pursue it at all costs, you just never know, Right?

I built prototypes. I filed patents. I got rejected. I kept going. Today it's Patent Pending and ready for the trades. We have the product(s) you see on this website, never accepting it's the best and always looking for improvements to the LASERGIZMO.
